A couple of things. First, boys are diagnosed more than girls not only because of the hyperactive component which is almost exclusively in boys, but because the illness is more than two times as common in boys (in studies where all the kids are tested. This is true in any country it's been done in). Second, losing your temper is not due to ADHD. This is a common misconception. Anxiety and mood issues are commonly associated with (but not caused by) ADHD.
