I applaud your life. But there is nothing new here really. The renunciate life has been practiced for millenia. Monks of all stripes (men and women) in Christian and Buddhist religions practice (the two I know about, there are more of course) renunciation for the same ends as you. Peace of mind. A complicated life with pleasures always means losses and disappointments. Posessions always means wanting things. A lack of ethical behavior always means regrets and/or worries. So many people have opted out of these usual pursuits. I must say I am somewhat envious of you. My own life is complicated by illness so going more bare bones is just not possible. I only wish that some men took advice from you and rather than withdrawing into resentment, found peace in simplicity.
