People are more and more lonely and isolated in our individualistic, success oriented culture. What you describe so thoughtfully and insightfully is a reaction to this. We are all sitting at home in our private pods and looking at the internet for some sense of human connection. We don't go out and find it because we are too tired from work or we no longer feel comfortable doing so. This is truly a cultural crisis which has not yet peaked. There is no solution on the horizon. So Gen Zers andMillenials please get to work.
