Peter--this is a great way to introduce Buddhism and to begn a practice. From another point of view it is a mishmash of things with near-miss definitions. For example, Mudita means sympathetic or vicarious joy. Joy in another person's good fortune or good feeling. And Anatma is confusing. We use "ego" to mean selfishness, which is how you describe it. It is certainly Buddhist to fight this. But Anatma means "non-self" not the western selfishness. It means, in practice to try not to identify things with a "self" that is Peter. Keep doing this and you will find no self that is Peter. Rather you will act spontaneously out of goodness (this is a brief review of a difficult issue). What you tried to list were the four perfections: kindness, compassion, empathic joy, and equanimity. Find a Sangha and develop a practice. You are already off to a good start.
