Religion, or just Christianity, may not be for you. But using analytic analogies will not help you understand it. Who said God wants to be worshiped? Maybe it's something people want or need. I will suggest that you take more of an anthropological approach. Just study what they do. Try to describe it down to deeper levels. What are different types of belief? What are the types of people? What does religion or particular practices seem to do for them? Observe, describe, dig, repeat. You will come to understand in the way we know people. They do not stem from propositions but have levels of existence.
