Thank you for bringing some light to this topic. I am also a psychiatrist who prescribed many hundreds of people SSRIs or SNRIs and had few complaints of severe withdrawal reactions. I was available 24/7 to my patients and they knew it. And like Dr. Kruse I had patients slowly go off meds. This is the same as in other areas of medicine. One thing I did that is not standard treatment is I sometimes gave a small prescription of prozac to take as needed for shocks or other bothersome symptoms. This made a sometimes difficult process much easier by giving the body a long acting drug to slowly go off of.

For years practicioners like Dr. Kruse and myself have been scratching our heads in response to so called experts and their meta-analyses that say antidepressants are neither safe nor effective. Our patients would disagree.
