That is a good thought. Because it is hard to teach a value or a virtue. But by just teaching how to do it and its benefits we are communicating that we value it. As a practical problem though; every minute in classroom time is fought over by different interests. I am skeptical of the use of technology as that is part of what keep young people apart. There is a movement afoot to get kids outside to have independent play and away from screens. I agree with this. But for now you've put your finger on the question: how do you teach something you should value?
