The question seems logically flawed. In order for a person to ask the question there must already be something. It is not like asking "why is my house white instead of yellow?" There are yellow houses. It could have happened. But there are no nothing universes (a nod to the fact of calling them universes already makes them something). There is no chance of nothing and asking the question.
