This is the most data-deprived post I have ever read. There is no basis for everything you have said. The social problems that exist now are new but mental disorders are not. The research following the prevalence of mental illness and unhappiness has been accumulating for decades. Have you studied this? The increase in these problems has occurred in all cultures studied. There is no data to suggest that talking about mental problems precipitates them or that diagnosing makes normal life issues into psychiatric problems. If you bothered to take a look at the criteria we use to make diagnoses you'd see that they are not normal life problems. There is currently a crisis of mental illness among adolescents due to social media and smart phone distraction. This is being tackled at the root but when a kid becomes ill it must be managed. Being unburdened by information is nothing to be proud of. There are problems with our culture but the effects are real. It is vital to understand the difference.
